About Us

It has been the special combination of talent, intellect, love, hard work and fun that has led Clann na Cara on the road to success as a young organization. Goals being met early on is undoubtedly the result of dancers, teachers and parents truly working as one.
Clann na Cara (Gaelic for "A Family of Friends") offers all members from the Beginner levels up through Championships the chance to experience the unique opportunities Irish Dance has to offer. In addition to learning the basics of Irish Dance in a fun, supportive and hard working environment, all dancers will be invited to join the "family of friends" at events such as the Buffalo Irish festival, the St. Patrick's Day Parade, etc. As dancers gain experience, they will be invited to perform at events such as Irish Night in Fredonia and other shows in which the dancers perform with live bands, all the while sharing their love of dance with people from all over! On and off the stage, the dancers display a special spirit and class that is undeniably "Clann na Cara!"

Class Sizes
The teachers of Clann na Cara have structured small class sizes (average 6-8 students per class) so dancers can take the most out of their time spent in class. For classes of larger sizes all 4 teachers and assistants are present in order to maximize the valuable lesson time.

Attending Classes
Dancers and families can choose based on dancer's desire and financial need how many classes to attend per week. The minimum attendance requirement is once a week, however there are opportunities to practice with teachers 5 days a week, not including private lessons which are offered as well. Since lessons are paid for in advance, any missed lesson will not be refunded, however the missed class may be "made up" by the dancer at one of the other locations. (see The Locations )

Terms /Tuition
Lessons are divided up into 3 terms which run alongside the average school calendar:
Term 1 is September-December
Term 2 is December-March
Term 3 is March-June
Summer Classes are also available but not mandatory.
Tuition fees are due at the beginning of each term and vary based on class level and hours of practice per week.
Our online "Message Board" provides members of the school with friendly reminders when terms switch over, as well as other up to date information. It is also an excellent place to interact with other members of the school, ask questions/get answers, buy/sell used shoes and dresses, etc.
